Randall Hooper, CVA, brings a dynamic blend of financial acumen, strategic insight, and entrepreneurial spirit to his role at SHG. Starting as a young entrepreneur in Los Angeles, he is a seasoned advisor committed to understanding and increasing business value.

Early Entrepreneurial Ventures

Randall's journey began at 12 when he developed a business plan for a chicken farm to fund his first cell phone. By 15, he worked with his father's family office, gaining hands-on experience in financial modeling, deal sourcing, and strategic planning. This early experience laid a solid foundation for his finance and business future.

A Competitive Edge

Randall attended a top-20 university, where he rowed competitively, deepening his appetite for growth in both sport and business. During his summers, he trained with various rowing clubs while gaining private equity experience through internships with Lexington Partners and Pomona Capital in New York City.

From Private Equity to SHG

After graduating, Randall entered private equity at Solum Partners, an ag-focused PE firm. He later relocated to Albany to be closer to his wife and connected with the SHG team. Since joining SHG, he has expanded his focus on valuations and client-facing advisory work, helping executives navigate ownership transitions and strategic planning initiatives.

Hands-On Experience

Randall is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and has led numerous business valuations and sell-side projects. His work isn't limited to the boardroom, partnering with the founders of Realm Artesian Water to build financial models, secure investors, and support their go-to-market strategy with boots-on-the-ground involvement.
