Forty Years Forward: A Toast to Our Roots and Our Future

The business world looked a lot different in 1985. Yet, the need for honest, expert advice hasn't changed a bit. That is the foundation Robert W. Schwartz built this firm on, and recently, we paused to recognize just how far that vision has come.

The Man Behind the Mission

It is impossible to tell our story without talking about Robert "Bob" Schwartz. When he launched this firm, he saw a clear gap in the local market. The Capital Region was growing, yet it lacked the high-level strategic planning and M&A guidance found in major financial hubs. Bob stepped in to fix that.

His influence goes deeper than business deals. As we toasted to his legacy, it was clear we weren't just honoring a CEO. We were celebrating a mentor, a father, and a friend. Bob has always believed that if you offer honest, smart advice, success follows. That simple belief remains the heartbeat of SHG today.

A Day to Remember

We gathered at The Hangar in Latham to celebrate four decades of this partnership. The "Forty Years Forward" event brought together our team, longtime clients, and community leaders like Senator Jake Ashby and Arrow Bank’s Dave DeMarco.

The energy was electric. We shared stories, enjoyed some great local food, and raised a glass with our signature "Forty & Forward" cider mocktail.

It wasn't just a party, though. It was a moment to honor the 1,100+ projects we have guided across the globe. Managing Directors Raimundo Archibold and Cory Martin took the stage to talk about where we are going next. From a local startup to a firm operating in 12 countries, the growth has been steady and strong.

But no matter how far we reach, our heart remains right here. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this story. We are just getting started.
